Librarian

Prior to joining the MPO, what did it represent to you?

Having been brought up in a musical family I got fond of the MPO since a relatively young age. Growing up made me realise how intriguing the orchestras is and what great privilege is to be part of this important national entity.

Can you delineate your role within the orchestra?

My role as Orchestra Librarian is to ensure the music for all our projects and performances is received and prepared in a timely manner and at the highest standard. This involves sourcing music from all over the world, managing and advising on copyright and licensing requirements, and liaising with conductors, soloists and orchestra musicians to deliver our services in the best way possible.

What do you cherish most from the MPO’s concerts?

I feel mostly satisfied and accomplished as I am aware of all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes by all the administrative team in order to attain a good production level. Furthermore being myself a musician within the MPO gives me much joy in the performances themselves!

How would you describe music?

Music is part of me, it’s my passion and career.  Quoting Friedrich Nietzsche: Without music, life would be a mistake.
