Ivan Lopez-Reynoso is the Principal and Artistic Director of the Orchestra of Teatro Bellas Artes, Mexico City as well as Principal Guest Conductor Oviedo Filarmonia in Spain.  

He made his opera conducting debut at the age of 20 with Nozze di Figaro and his international debut conducting “il viaggio a Reims” at the Rossini Opera festival, invited at the young age of 23.  

He conducts regularly in America and Europe including Teatro Real in Madrid, Opernhaus Zurich, Teatro Maestranza in Seville, ABAO -Bilbao, Opera Oviedo, Rossini Opera Festival, Festival Granda in Peru, Baluarte Pamplona, Opera Bellas Artes in Mexico City, Opera de León-Mexico, Centro de Artes Santander en Guadalajara Mexico, State Theatre in Braunschweig-Germany and Royal Opera House in Muscat-Oman.  

In the Summer 2022 he makes his US opera debut conducting “il barbiere di Siviglia” at The Santa Fe Opera, followed by ‘The rake’s progress’ at Festival Cervantino in Mexico, Rossini’s ‘Otello’ at Belcanto Festival in Japan. Other upcoming appearances include Opera de Oviedo, Teatro Real and his debut at Festival de Granada in Spain.  

Lopez-Reynoso is a regular conductor of opera galas and has collaborated with Celso Albelo, Javier Camarena, Ildar Abdrazakov, Ramón Vargas and Maria Katzarava in galas and concerts.  

As a symphonic conductor Lopez-Reynoso is invited to some of the most important orchestras including Mexico’s National Symphony, Sinfónica de Madrid, Sinfónica de Navarra, Sinfónica de Tenerife, Sinfónica Rossini and Filarmonica de Jalisco.  

Ivan Lopez-Reynoso masters several instruments including piano, violin, and voice (countertenor). 

In 2018 he received the Diego Rivera State Prize of the Arts for his contribution to music
