MPO Statement – Act of Vandalism

The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra unreservedly condemns what appears to be an act of vandalism on an installation located at Pjazza Tritoni in Valletta. The art piece was set-up last Friday in the run-up to The Planets, the orchestra’s first official event in its 22/23 Concert Season to be held later on this week.

The MPO reiterates its belief that its concert programme seeks to enhance the local creative landscape as it acts as a catalyst to enhance the cultural richness of our society. Such episodes, albeit unfortunate and pitiful, further empower the orchestra’s commitment towards attaining these goals. As such, regardless of these acts, the orchestra will maintain its strategy to reach out to wider audiences locally and abroad.
