“Maria, Maria, say it loud and there’s music playing” (West Side Story – Bernstein)
The MPO congratulates Maria Blanco on being appointed Head of the Malta School of Music (MSM) at the Mikiel Anton Vassalli College.
Joining as Marketing & Development Manager in 2013, Maria was a key figure in the orchestra’s core team which exponentially enhanced the orchestra’s visibility on a local and international platform. Leading the marketing department, she spearheaded a number of initiatives including the re-branding of the MPO whilst devising strategies promoting the ensemble’s concert seasons.
In parallel, Maria worked extensively to bolster the orchestra’s rapport with patrons and nurtured collaborations with corporate partners. In addition, she coordinated the orchestra’s educational and outreach projects, including the development of the Family Fanfare.
Whilst Expressing its thanks for her tireless work over the years, the MPO augurs Maria success in her new endeavour and looks forward towards working with the MSM as catalysts for Malta’s cultural development.
