The Malta Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) is once more collaborating with the Valletta Cultural Agency (VCA) with the support of Bank of Valletta (BOV) on multiple audiovisual music productions – acting as a catalyst for connection and positivity, as we unite together as a nation and strive towards a better future.

“Where the Streets Have No Name”, with the orchestral arrangement by Aurelio Belli, aims on enhancing Valletta and Malta’s reputation as a cultural destination on an international platform, creating awareness of our unique culture and national heritage.

This first of four audiovisual music productions is meant to inspire people through music, and send a message of hope to all the people out there affected by the Covid 19 pandemic. U2’s song was chosen to portray the streets of Valletta, usually bursting with people full of life, now empty and quiet. Indeed, “After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music”.

These initiatives form part of a series of projects produced by the MPO, in collaboration with a number of partners and entities.
