Dar tal‑Providenza residents are in for a treat this Christmas thanks to a concert organised by the Central Bank of Malta Foundation following a one‑year sponsorship agreement signed with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra.

This sponsorship was first provided by the Central Bank of Malta in 2017‑2019 and has now been taken over by the Central Bank of Malta Foundation for 2020.

The agreement was signed by the Central Bank of Malta Foundation chairman, Fr Marius Zerafa, and by the executive chairman of the MPO, Sigmund Mifsud. Through this agreement, the MPO will present a concert for the Central Bank of Malta in December 2020.

Encouraged by the success of an outreach concert at St Vincent de Paul Residence last year, the Foundation is also sponsoring an MPO concert at Hospice Malta next year.

Corporate partnerships help support key areas of the Orchestra’s work, and through this partnership agreement, the Bank will be supporting the purchase of orchestral instruments, the Orchestra’s internship programme – through which promising young musicians are given the opportunity to prepare for making a career out of music – as well as the Malta Youth Orchestra.
