In honour of MPO’s beloved colleague Daniele Galletto, who was meant to perform before his untimely passing, this clarinet trio concert, featuring viola and piano, is a showcase of virtuosity and lyricism. Mozart elegantly blends the three instruments in a delightful dialogue in his charming Kegelstatt Trio. Each instrument shines individually as well as within the ensemble in a selection from Bruch’s Eight Pieces. French composer Françaix combines the unique timbres of the trio into an engaging and uplifting work.
