The final concert of the MPO opens with Prokofiev’s First Symphony, a work imbued with modernism and evidencing the composer’s with, although exemplifying the composer’s Neoclassical style. 

Daniel Lozakovich joins the orchestra to perform one of the most lyrical works for violin and orchestra, Mendelssohn’s concerto, composed for Ferdinand David. The composer admitted that the violinist that the beginning of the work would not leave him “in peace”. The concert’s concluding work is Shor’s Phantasms.
