Joseph Vella Il-Belt Rebbieħa 

The MPO performs in the concluding event of the festival presenting another work by Joseph Vella, Il-Belt Rebbieħa.  

Performed at the venue where it was originally premiered, the composition pays tribute to the city of Vittoriosa, embodying the bravery of the Maltese during the Great Siege of Malta in 1565. Although history often praised the Knights of Malta, the work highlights the contribution of the natives who represented the core element within the Christian force.
