presented as part of the Symphonic Middle East Festival 2022 SERGEY SMBATYAN Conductor Programme: Kristian Schembri Cataclysmus The MPO performs Beethoven’s iconic Symphony No. 5 in Dubai, a piece that is now considered to be a defining work of Western Classical music. In addition to Cataclysmus by young Maltese composer Kristian Schembri, the orchestra is joined by Sony artist Jasmine Choi for Shor’s vivacious Flute Concerto and Vivaldi’s popular oeuvre Il Gardellino. This concert is presented by CMDI Group and SAMIT Event Group, with the support of the European Foundation for Support of Culture (EUFSC).
