Johannes Brahms Horn Trio in E♭ major, Op. 40
Arnold Schoenberg Verklärte Nacht, Op. 4  

MPO musicians join guest artists in an evening of chamber music featuring two dramatic compositions from the late romantic period based on themes of love and grief. 

The Trio by Brahms, considered as one of the most eminent works for this combination of instruments, was composed following the death of the composer’s mother. Arnold Schoenberg’s Verklärte Nacht, performed in its original sextet version, is a heart-wrenching journey from anguish to hope and love based on the poem by Richard Dehmel. 

The concert is free of charge however booking is required.
