Born in 1980, Savio started studying violin at the age of seven, and at an advanced stage continued his studies with Mario Bisazza. He also studied percussion, and later on, viola under the guidance of Guido Mamo, where he obtained the ALCM and LLCM diplomas.

In 1996 he formed part of the Orchestre des Jeunes de la Méditerranée. Meanwhile, he studied theory of music with Ray Sciberras and obtained the A.Mus.LCM. He composed several festive and funeral marches, and other musical arrangements.

In October 1997 he joined the Orchestra, as a full-time viola player. The large number of concerts he participated in, were all a great experience, especially during the MPO Tours abroad.
