Philipp Orlov was born into a musical family in 1990. He began studying the violin at the age of six at the Specialist Music School. After graduating, he continued his studies at the Saratov State Conservatoire in Russia. During his intensive studies there, he won both a position in the Saratov Philharmonic Orchestra as well as
second prize in the Goldenberg violin competition. In 2014, after gaining higher education, Philipp joined the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2017-2018 he was sub-principal second violin of the MPO. In 2018, as a member of the MPO string quartet, he performed twice within the MPO’s chamber series.
Since 2018, Philipp has been a member of the MPO’s first violins.
