Fiona Giambra was born in Hong Kong and started studying the violin at the age of six with Ricardo DeMello, member of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. Upon moving to Malta, she continued her studies under Professor Joachim Atanassov and Marcelline Agius (leader of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra), obtaining both her Licentiate and Fellowship of the London College of Music.

She has attended masterclasses with artists including Carmine Lauri and David Routledge. Fiona is actively involved in Baroque music and has had masterclasses with Adrian Butterfield (Professor of Baroque violin at the Royal College of Music), Laura Vadjon (Croatian Baroque Ensemble), and most recently in Cambridge with Judy Tarling.

She has toured extensively throughout Europe, Russia, US and China.
