Technical Officer – Administration

Prior to joining the MPO, what did it represent to you?

As a music enthusiast, I followed many concerts of the MPO in the past and I always felt honoured with the level attained in Malta.

I was always keen on live performances and the orchestral sounds – they are most soothing.

Can you delineate your role within the orchestra?

My role within the orchestra is of a Technical Officer. I prepare and organize everything related to the stage, setting up for rehearsals and concerts, coordinating equipment and instruments delivery and dismantling and backstage management.

Often, I am the first person at the venues and the last one to depart.

Additionally, I am responsible for the maintenance of our premises.

What do you cherish most from the MPO’s concerts?

Once the concert commences, another week of hard work almost comes to an end. Besides, the audiences’ positive feedback translates into satisfaction for sharing this job with fantastic musicians and colleagues.

Our job is quite taxing as we work long hours, weekends and often evenings. Yet, we are so passionate as we love working in an orchestral environment.

How would you describe music?

Music is a language that everyone can understand and plays a huge part in our lives.

New paragraph It transports listeners on an emotional journey and becomes a source of inspiration.

For me, music is my life.
