The MPO performs in the annual Orchestral Charity Concert held in honour of the Order’s Patron, Saint John the Baptist. 

Presented under the distinguished patronage of the President of the Republic of Malta, the concert under the baton of MPO Principal Conductor Michael Laus includes Cherubini’s setting of the Ave Maria and an oeuvre by Paul Silvestrov, one of Ukraine’s most prominent artists. The programme features Puccini’s Mass, written as his graduation work from the Pacini Institute and never performed after its premiere during the composer’s lifetime.
