John McDonough) Greensleeves This chamber concert as part of GauLive feature three of the MPO’s principals in a varied recital full of and enchanting tone colours. The programme presents original works and transcriptions that celebrate the intrinsic links between masterpieces for winds. Bach’s friendship with Telemann is reflected in the presentation of his Solo Partita for Flute with Telemann’s Canonic Sonata wheareas Mozart and Bizet’s mutual melodic gifts are also evidenced. French composers Ibert and Saint-Saens give a taste of impressionism as Vella’s ouvre pays homage to Debussy.
