The fourth concert of the MPO at the Malta International Music Festival features a work by Joseph Vella for strings, brass and percussion, Jubilo Overture. Ravel defined his work as “not a funeral lament for a dead child, but rather an evocation of the pavane that might have been dances by such a little princess”.  

Grieg composed the incidental music for the verse drama by Henrik Ibsen, in what remains as one of his most popular compositions. The concert also features two cello works by Alexey Shor, the Cello Concerto and the Humoresque.
