The first concert of the Malta International Music Festival opens with Charles Camilleri’s Malta Suite. The enigmatic work transforms a number of folk into colourful orchestral dances.  

The programme also features cellist Gautier Capuçon interpreting Alexey Shor’s Musical Pilgrimage and the Élégie, originally written for cello and piano. The work has been defined as “one of the last manifestations of French musical Romanticism”.
