The MPO with Festivals Malta present the annual concert celebrating Independence Day. Under the baton of Maltese conductor Roderick Bugeja, the programme features an exhilarating musical journey through the centuries, from Verdi’s dramatic Overture from La Forza del Destino to local contemporary composers Alex Vella Gregory’s Riħ and Albert Garzia’s Xamm. 

The soloist in Ernest Bloch’s Nigun from Baal Shem is young violinist Pierre Louis Attard and the evening Tchaikovsky has the final word with excerpts from his enchanting ballet Swan Lake.
