Dmitri Shostakovich Symphony No. 10 in E minor, Op. 93   

The MPO under the direction of Principal Conductor Sergey Smbatyan presents an exhilarating rendition of Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 10, a semi-autobiographical symphony depicting the terror and violence endured during Stalin’s regime. The symphony is bursting with breath-taking peaks, powerful melodies and palpable emotion. 

Behzod Abduraimov, described as “the most perfectly accomplished pianist of his generation” performs Mikhail Pletnev’s arrangement of From My Bookshelf, an eight-movement piano concerto paying tribute to characters from well-known literary works.
