Mutiny is in the air. The Basses of the orchestra have had enough! They want to show their worth to the whole world. They are fed up playing “second fiddle” to the likes of the violins, flutes and oboes who steal the limelight with their melodies.
So come and meet the biggest instruments who can play the lowest notes in the orchestra and who have the power to stir the foundations of music! One hour of sheer interactive fun with the MPO musicians, playing hilarious renditions of well known tunes in the unmistakable deep tones of the basses.
This concert is specially designed for schools. Teachers will be given a teacher’s pack prior to attending the performance with cross-curricular material that can be used in class. The performance session also includes small workshops with the individual musicians of the MPO, whereby students will have the opportunity to ask questions about the instrument and see closely how each instrument works.
The MPO Education Series is made possible with the support of Bank of Valletta
